The Custom Hand Crafted Model:
The Allets slim profile body has a Mahogany back and neck capped with a solid Bloodwood top. Bloodwood cap on the headstock inlayed with Mother of Pearl, bound with a three layer cream/black/cream binding and gold plated Gotoh Keystone-style tuners, 16-1 gear ratio. The finger board is solid Ebony with medium jumbo frets and MOP inlyed dots, 22 fret, 24 5/8” scale length bound with a three layer cream/black/cream binding and Black TUSQ Graph Tech nut. One volume and one tone 500k ohm control with gold speed dial knobs. A matched pair of black Seymour Duncan P-Rail pickups with cream color Seymour Duncan Triple Shot Pickup Rings. The Triple Shot pickup rings have switches on the rings that will allow you to access series, parallel and split wire settings. Gold plated three way switch to switch between Bridge, Neck, or both pickups. Gold plated hardware, Gotoh aluminum stop tail piece, TonePros Tune-O-Matic style bridge with graph tech saddles, strung with a set of 9's from Sfarzo strings.
The Bloodwood top, being denser than Maple, coupled with the P-Rail pickup setting on the rail will produce bright screaming tones. With a Mahogany back, switching the pickups to the humbucker setting, will produce warmer softer tones.
The history of the guitar:
The Allets Guitar was conceived from a commission by Southern Lumber's president Jeff Pohle, San Jose CA, to build a unique guitar for a local radio station concert series give-away. KFOX's radio stations morning show host Greg Kihn puts on a concert each year that's always a huge huge success. The give-away was at a Lynyrd Skynyrd / Blue Oyster Cult concert held at the famous Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View California. Greg's Kihncert as it's called is always opened with Greg's band The Greg Kihn Band. Greg is most famous for his rock and roll hits "Jeopardy" and "The Break Up Song" which has been used in movies, and many other well known hits.
Southern Lumber, in my opinion, has the highest quality and the most extensive selection of hardwoods available anywhere. The guitar was built entirely from their fine woods. I've now added this fine guitar to my collection available to you custom hand crafted or in an affordable custom import model. There will soon be easy on the pocket USA built models too.
Because of it's infinite tone settings with the Seymour Duncan P-Rail pickups this guitar is perfect for a wide variety of styles including country, pop, surf, jazz, blues, classic rock, and heavy rock.
