Complete Setup
Request for Repair Quote
There is really no specific way to set up any instrument. It's usually set up to a musicians playing style. All guitars have factory specs which in the manufacturers opinion is the optimum setup. This doesn't mean it's the best for the musician playing the guitar but it's certainly a good place to start.  We will set up any guitar to manufacturers specs unless the owner states otherwise.  You are the only one who knows how your guitar should be or how you want it to be set up. There are certain factors that determine how a guitar should set up when the instruments components change and will probably change the playability of the guitar but not always for the worse. But it will be different from what you have been used to on that instrument.

We perform a twelve point setup procedure that insures the playablility of the guitar is as good or better, in most cases, than the original factory setup.  Most factory setups are usually adequate and not optimized, and definitely, in most cases, not for the musician who purchases the instrument.

Generally the twelve point setup covers most points needed to optimize the performance the instrument.  During the setup it may be required to replace or repair components of the instrument. This may or may not be done at an additional expense.  We will contact the owner if any additional work needs to be done, parts need to be replaced or any component needs to be repaired.

1. Check neck relief. This includes trussrod adjustment.*
*This adjustment needs to be approved by the customer.  The truss rod adjustment could result in damage to the instrument. it's a rare case that this happens. Bisceglia Guitars takes the utmost care in making  this adjustment and will under no circumstance negligently cause damage to the instrument and will not take responsibility if damage occurs.

*Any neck relief adjustment will only be done after a complete inspection of the frets and it is determined the frets do not need replacing or recrowned unless approved by the customer.  A complete re-fret includes this twelve point setup.

2.  Check pickup / string clearance and adjust to customer or manufacturers specifications.
Default is Manufacturers specifications

3.  Check string action. Adjust to customer specs or the manufacturers specifications.*
*At times the nut may need to be replaced. The nut can be replaced at an additional cost. That cost, at a 10% discount, is listed on the nut replacement page HERE.
When considering a nut replacement a close inspection of the frets will be done to determine if the the frets should be recrowned or replaced.

4. Check string radius to fingerboard radius. Adjust if needed if adjustment is possible.

5.  Check and adjust intonation.

6.  Replace strings (included). Customers choice below 6 string only.
