Our guitar nuts, in most peoples opinion the most important part of any guitar, are hand made to insure the nut is crafted to fit the guitar the way it should be. Not pre manufactured where it may be hit or miss on the way the nut fits and sets the action of the guitar.  Unless you have the right tools and knowledge to manufacture and to set the action of the guitar it would be wise to let an expert make the nut and set the action. Once the "nut is blown" it's back to step one! If you're replacing a conventional nut with an LSR Roller Nut additional fingerboard material needs to be removed. It must be done precisely!  Another installation best left to the experts.  We will hand manufacture a nut, the material of your choice, install it, set the action to your specifications, and recheck the intonation of any guitar when we replace the nut.

More about nut replacement!

Whatever material you use to upgrade or replace your nut, it’s important to do the job done correctly. It may seem like a simple thing to do and that you could just take a piece of material shape it up with sandpaper and a file, and you possibly could, but an improperly cut and slotted nut will interfere with both your guitars tone and intonation, so this is really a job for a professional. The nut slots on a professionally crafted guitar nut need not only to be spaced correctly, but also cut to precise depths and at accurate angles so that all strings have the same break point at the front edge of the nut. The bottom of the nut has to be cut correctly too so it seats firmly and tightly into the nut slot or you will loose sustain and resonance. So, when you consider replacing the nut on your precious guitar, get them done right when repair or replacement is required, and you’ll be rewarded with years of toneful and in-tune playablity of your fine instrument.
