The guitars intonation is the one most critical adjustment made on a guitar for a guitar to play in tune throughout the entire scale of the instrument. Even if the instrument is in perfect tune, if the intonation is even slightly off the guitar may play in tune in the lower scale but not so in the upper scale. There are many variables that can and will affect the intonation of the instrument such as making a change in the neck relief adjustment, changing the gage of your strings, or having worn frets. Other factors that will affect your guitars intonation or the tuning of your guitar are high string action, excessive neck relief, worn saddles, high frets, and even if the strings haven't been stretched properly or your pickups are too close to the strings. So, when your instrument has been set up correctly then and only then should the intonation be adjusted.
As with any adjustment there are other factors, as mentioned above, that could affect the accuracy or integrity of the adjustment. When this occurs we will contact the instrument owner to discuss the possibility there may be additional costs. Only after the approval from the customer to conduct the additional procedures will we continues with the original adjustments.
